Coordination and Curatorship – Sabor e Saber Festival (2009)
In 2009, I coordinated and curated the second edition of Sabor e Saber, a unique gastronomic and cultural experience that invited participants to discover a country through the senses. The festival aimed to strengthen connections between Brazilian and international culinary professionals, fostering knowledge exchange as a path to innovation and excellence in the sector.
This edition celebrated Brazil and Spain, bringing Catalonia to Minas Gerais for 15 days of events that blended fine cuisine, art, and culture. The program combined two main strands: Sabor — culinary experiences, tastings, and cultural activities — and Saber — lectures and workshops on Catalan gastronomy in partnership with Estácio de Sá University in Belo Horizonte.
Five renowned Catalan chefs presented innovative techniques, textures, and flavors that positioned Catalonia as one of Europe’s most influential culinary destinations. The festival also featured La Quadra Màgica, a theatrical trilogy inspired by Mediterranean perspectives on personal limits, love, and the pursuit of peace, performed by a company known for blending entertainment with reflection.
Events took place at Inhotim Contemporary Art Center, Teatro Odeon, and Estácio de Sá University, offering an immersive cultural exchange that left a lasting impact on both regions.
